Yiddish Summer Weimar - Germany's best known festival of Yiiddish Music - 2009: July 1st - August 7th

Traditional and contemporary instrumental Yiddish music, also known as "klezmer" music, continues to flourish through improvisation and variations. Jam sessions provide the perfect context for expanding repertoire and exchanging new ideas and approaches.

At Yiddish Summer Weimar, musicians from all over the world come to meet and make music with each other and with faculty from the international klezmer scene. Jam sessions are held in the evenings at various locations in the town center of Weimar. Experience the jam session atmosphere and let yourself be surprised by the diversity of Yiddish music and the experimentation that every evening promises to bring.
