Jewish
dance ethnography and history: Special topic, taught by
Zev Feldman
The
subjects of this university-level course in Yiddish
dance, dance ethnography, folklore, and history will be
explored through a remarkable collection of book
excerpts, articles, audio, video and film materials, and
critical discussion. The course is aimed at serious
students of Yiddish dance, culture and ethnography. The
primary language of instruction will be English. This
course can be taken separately, or combined with the
Dance Workshop by attending this session in the mornings
and the Moldavian dance sessions in the afternoons.
